On Saturday, September 17th, Juliet hosted Gardeners Exchange members for a guided tour and discussion at her home. Lela and her refreshment crew provided light refreshments. We also held our late-season plant swap.
In early 2021, shortly after purchasing her new home, Juliet began an ambitious landscape renovation project with the goal of retaining and enhancing the pastoral beauty of her 1.7 acre property. Her starting point was a blank slate: a flat, open expanse of lawn with islands of long-neglected, overgrown plantings and a shade tree or two, many in decline. To accomplish her vision, Juliet is working with a landscape designer and is well along in the process of creating garden rooms, connecting pathways and other green spaces while still maintaining the expansive, open feel of the original space. She led us on a walking tour and discussed her progress thus far, including the benefits of working with a trained professional when tackling a major project like this one. She’s made great progress in one short year!
