Description: Join local native plant enthusiast Deb Fountain and gardener friends Diane Temple and Bianca Barron for a brief presentation inside the library on native plant gardening, advocacy, and steps we can all take to share the importance of gardening responsibly. Following the presentation, we will tour the library grounds which include 5 smaller native gardens with diverse features. We will conclude with a short walk to the Town Hall to visit their new pollinator garden, discuss these projects, share ideas and answer questions.

About the presenter: Deb Fountain is a longtime resident of Pepperell, chair of the town’s Invasive and Native Plant Advisory Committee, and advocate of native plant and habitat gardening. Since retiring, she completed native plant certificate programs in field botany and horticulture and design with the New England Wild Flower Society (now known as the Native Plant Trust), led school tours and nature programs, and worked with the propagation manager at Garden in the Woods. Deb helped design, install and maintain four native plant gardens on town properties, including 5 smaller native plant gardens on the town library grounds. She has presented native and invasive programs to garden clubs, school children and conservation groups and is responsible for amending town Zoning Design Standards to require the use of native plants in new residential and commercial construction.
