Member Garden Tour & Plant Swap – Saturday, September 17, 10:30am

Please join fellow Gardeners Exchange members for a guided tour and discussion at Juliet’s home — see member email for address. Light refreshments will be provided and the meeting will include our late-season plant swap, so members should be sure to bring both their appetites and plants to swap. Members who would like to contribute baked goods or drinks should contact refreshments coordinator Lela to let her know (see member email for contact info). Parking space is limited, so please plan to carpool if possible.

Garden Tour Overview: In early 2021, shortly after purchasing her new home, Juliet began an ambitious landscape renovation project with the goal of retaining and enhancing the pastoral beauty of her 1.7 acre property. Her starting point was a blank slate: a flat, open expanse of lawn with islands of long-neglected, overgrown plantings and a shade tree or two, many in decline. To accomplish her vision, Juliet is working with a landscape designer and is well along in the process of creating garden rooms, connecting pathways and other green spaces while still maintaining the expansive, open feel of the original space. She will lead a walking tour and discuss her progress thus far, including the benefits of working with a trained professional when tackling a major project like this one. Members will be amazed at everything Juliet has accomplished in one short year!

The garden tour will also feature our late-season plant swap. Members are encouraged to bring up to six extras from their gardens to swap. Try to pot plants a week or two in advance so they look their best on the day of the swap and also provide descriptive labels.

Note: Most of our events are rain or shine. If we do postpone due to weather, members will receive an email notification and we'll update the event details here on the website.
